Arthur T. Thomas, P.E., President

Art was born and raised in Northumberland, PA. He is a proud 1982 graduate of Shikellamy High School, and a proud 1986 graduate of The Pennsylvania State University where he spent 4 ½ years at the University Park main campus in State College, PA and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering.
He likes to tell you that he was a full time student with a student season ticket for all home football games for both of Penn State’s national championship seasons of 1982 and 1986.
Upon graduation from Penn State, Art accepted a position as a heavy highway design engineer with Gannett Fleming Engineers and Planners in Harrisburg, PA, and worked there until 1998.
In 1998 Art moved his young family “home” to Sunbury to begin his new career as an owner of Meck-Tech, where he is a civil/site land development engineer and municipal engineer. In 2018, Art became the President of both Meck-Tech, Inc. and Diversified Construction, Inc.
Art is married to Lynette, and has three children and one grandchild.

Scott A. Shambach, P.L.S., Project Designer, Survey Chief

Scott was raised in the Middleburg PA area. He grew up in a rural setting and developed a love of the outdoors that remains with him to this day. He graduated from Middleburg High School in 1979. After working for thirteen years in a custom cabinet factory, Scott recalled a dream of one day becoming a Land Surveyor. This led to a 2 1/2 year adventure beginning in 1996 of being a full time husband, full time father, full time student and part time employee that ended with an Associates of Science Degree in both Surveying and Civil Engineering Technology from Pennsylvania College of Technology. During that time Scott began working an internship with Meck-Tech. After graduating in December 1998 he became their first full time employee. Scott and Crystal have a son and daughter and have seven grandchildren. To Scott, his employment at Meck-Tech is his career, not his job, because it’s hard for him to call it work.

Michael T. Thomas, P.E., Project Engineer

Mike is a 2007 graduate of Shikellamy High School, and a 2011 graduate of The Pennsylvania State University where he spent 4 years at the University Park main campus in State College, PA and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biological Engineering (Formerly Agricultural Engineering).
Mike worked with his grandfather, Leonard, the founder of Meck-Tech, during high school assisting with survey work. He also worked with Meck-Tech’s sister company Diversified Construction, Inc. for summers beginning in the summer of 2005 until after he graduated from Penn State in 2011.
Upon graduation from Penn State, Mike accepted a position as a civil/environmental design engineer with GAI Consultants, Inc., in Pittsburgh, PA, and worked there until spring 2017. The fast pace, challenging work was exactly what a young engineer right out of college needed to quickly gain technical and leadership experience. Mike transitioned from GAI to work with Herbert, Rowland & Grubic, Inc., in Cranberry Township, as a land development project engineer for about a year before moving back home, to the valley, in the spring of 2018 . Mike has a strong background in civil/site and stormwater design.
Mike and his wife Shelby have one child and quite a collection of critters (currently two Labrador Retrievers, three guinea pigs, five lizards, eight snakes and a turtle). Mike also enjoys being active and gaming with friends and family.
